Here are a few pictures of the renovated porch!  We found the perfect orange couch on Craig's List for $50, a sweet and inexpensive paper lantern at Urban Outfitters, and mirrored birds at the Mass. Museum of Contemporary Art.  The porch is cozy, bright, and a perfect spot for morning coffee or late afternoon cocktails.

Finally catching up on the house blog-- here are photos from the porch renovation in summer 2010.  Bruce and Nate took out the drop ceiling, the fake pine paneling, and three layers of green astro-turf on the floor to uncover the original porch-- including a beadboard ceiling!  We installed new wainscoting under the windows put in a new bamboo floor, and repainted the walls and ceiling in white and pale green.  Now it's one of our favorite rooms in the house!

The first phase of kitchen renovation was to demo the existing coat closet and interior walls and open up the space.  Already the room is much lighter and brighter, and we can begin see the shape of a new kitchen emerging!  As a bonus, Bruce and Nate discovered some original wainscoting in the wall behind the refrigerator.  It looks like the kitchen was painted lime green at one point - so the wainscoting will need to be sanded down before we re-use it!
